Session Description:
This session will focus on a quality improvement initiative aimed at improving emergency department flow. Following a discrete event simulation to identify key bottlenecks, the team tested changes using PDSA cycles with a focus on staff engagement and change management.
Speaker Biography:
Megan Hamilton is a Performance Improvement Specialist at Sunnybrook. Her areas of expertise are human factors engineering and the optimization and design of complex health systems and processes. She holds a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification from the University of Toronto and earned her MHSc in Clinical Engineering from the same institution. Megan applies systems thinking and human-centered design principles to support safe care and streamline operations.
