Speaker Biography:
Genny Ng, is the Manager of Quality & Patient Safety and Co-Chair of the Green Task Force at Sunnybrook. In her role, she oversees accreditation preparations, and leads quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient care. As Co-Chair of the Green Task Force, Genny oversees a number of sustainability initiatives. Genny has over 15 years of healthcare experience, prior to joining the Quality & Patient Safety department, Genny worked as a Respiratory Therapist in the ICU.
Jacqueline Follis, BSN, MSN, RN is Choosing Wisely Canada’s (CWC) inaugural Nursing Lead and holds an adjunct lecturer position with L. Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing, University of Toronto. She has completed a Fellowship in Quality and Patient Safety from the Center for Quality Improvement and Patient Safety (C-QuIPS) in Toronto.
Jacquie is working to develop a Nursing strategy to raise awareness of Choosing Wisely Canada, the national voice for reducing unnecessary tests and treatments in Canada and has launched a National Community of Practice, putting out a call to Canadian nurses to collaborate with others and advance nursing leadership in Choosing Wisely Canada.
Before joining the CWC team in 2023, Jacquie worked as an advanced practice nurse in professional practice at Women’s College Hospital (WCH), deepening her interest in quality improvement (QI) efforts. During her time at WCH, Jacquie developed a new version of the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario Best Practice Guideline Program, utilizing an evidence-based culture to improve patient experience and health outcomes, lower cost of care by preventing complications, and enrich staff satisfaction.
