SUMMARY:QI from start to finish: Project management for improvers
DESCRIPTION:Project managers keep projects on time\, on budget and on track. This masterclass will leverage project management skills and tools and teach participants how to use them to take their projects across the finish line. Participants will engage in interactive discussions with an opportunity to share challenges they’ve run into and receive personalized feedback with solutions provided that can be implemented to make sure QI work gets done within the project timeline. \nObjectives :  \n\nReview the typical structure and organization of a Quality Improvement (QI) project \nUnderstand the role of a QI project leader from start to finish \nGive an overview of key tools to support project management for all stages of a QI project \nLearn how to identify key stakeholders and keep them engaged \nUnderstand how to drive momentum in QI work \n\nDate and time: \n\nWednesday\, March 27 2024\, 12-4 p.m. ET\n\nCost: \n\n$400 – non-members\n$300 – CQUIPS+ members (25% discount!)\n\n\nSpeakers: \nCatherine Convery MHA\, BHSc (Hons)\, CPHQ \nPerformance Improvement Specialist\, Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre \nCatherine holds a Masters of Health Administration and an Honors Bachelor of Health Sciences. She completed the IDEAS Advanced QI Learning Program with the University of Toronto / Health Quality Ontario (HQO)\, and is credentialed as a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (NAHQ). Catherine holds Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt (SickKids) and Green Belt (KPMG/OHA) certifications\, and is close to completing Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification from the University of Michigan. Catherine has been part of the Quality & Patient Safety team at Sunnybrook since 2014. Her quality improvement experience includes application of Lean Six Sigma\, flow and process improvement\, quantitative and qualitative data analysis and statistical process control\, model of care development\, and kaizen event facilitation. \n  \nClaudia Wong RN\, BScN\, MPP. \nClaudia is a registered nurse and has been at Sunnybrook since 2008\, working across a variety of areas including acute care\, critical care and the Emergency Department. She holds a Master of Public Policy degree\, certification in Quality Improvement and Patient Safety\, and a Lean Green Belt.  In previous roles\, she worked for provincial agencies\, specializing in inter-hospital flow and building regional and provincial networks with health care organizations across the province. She has experience designing and conducting qualitative research. Her quality improvement leadership experience spans a variety of projects and topics\, including patient flow\, patient transitions\, discharge planning\, quality culture\, and patient safety.
